A space for visual culture, encounters and sharing
Founded in 2025, Betterpress Studio is Betterpress's new space on Via Portuense 189, just steps from Trastevere station.
The Studio grows out of Betterpress Lab's experience to open the project to new possibilities: exhibitions, meetings, presentations, talks, workshops, artist residencies and special projects, in dialogue with artists, illustrators, photographers, graphic and type designers and other voices from contemporary culture.
It's a space where different languages and practices can meet: from typography to photography, from illustration to watercolour, from micro-publishing to bookbinding, all the way to literature and reflection on digital culture.
From taking part in Rome Art Week with Ascolto sospeso by Ludovica Lugli to the international exhibition Fight for Kindness, from Ordinario Immaginario by Marina Marcolin and Matteo Fenili to Monica Di Brigida's photography with Erranti alchimie, the Studio's programme moves between exhibitions, experimentation, teaching and moments of conviviality.
This is also where Betterdì was born — open, informal evenings where a presentation might meet poetry, an exhibition, a print, a conversation, or a glass of wine.
Betterpress Studio works in close relationship with Betterpress Lab: two distinct and complementary places. The Lab remains the project's operational and teaching heart, dedicated to printing, production and training; the Studio is where this research opens up to the city and meets new authors, audiences and languages.
A space to pass through, to see, listen, learn, experiment and be together in.
